My godmother Loni came to Albuquerque to visit. Hailey was completely enthralled with the colors of her shirt and had such a fun time laughing and "talking" to Aunt Loni! Everyday Hailey becomes more and more active by talking and moving around...

Damian couldn't wait to meet his cousin Hailey! After Hailey was born, he would call and ask if he could teach her how to play baseball! The entire time we were in California, Damian would tell me that my baby was sooo cute and that he loved his Hailey Grace (o:
Last Friday Hailey wasn't feeling well. She had a fever of 102.4 so my mom and I took her to pediatric urgent care. While we were there, she had a catheter so they could do a urine check, blood drawn and a chest x-ray. We waited for over 4 hours and everything seemed to be ok, and the tylenol dropped her temperature a little so we went home. The doctor told me that there was something inconclusive on the x-ray and if she still wasn't doing well the next day, they would treat her as if she had pneumonia. Well, at 1am I took her temp again and it was 103.5...my mom and I took her the emergency room. The ER doc attempted to give little Hailey a spinal tap, however, he wasn't able to get fluid out of her spine. He tried twice and still wasn't successful...on top of that, the nurse attempted to put in an IV but blew a vein. It wasn't until she was admitted to the pediatric unit that they were able to do a successful spinal tap and put in an IV. Needless to say, my little girl went through a tramatic experience (as did her mommy!). We stayed in the hospital for over 2 days so they could give Hailey IV antibiotics in case she had meningitis. Fortunately, her tests were
negative for meningitis and they think she had a bad viral infection. Thank you to all of our family and friends who prayed for our little girl! It was your thoughts and prayers that helped us get through this terrible time. Jay was in Vegas for an inspection, but he was able to come home the last day Hailey was in the hospital.
On the pediatrics floor, they have a play room where the staff colors nametags for each child that is admitted to place on their doors.

Since I'm posting a month's worth of pictures and stories, I thought I'd let you know what's being going on in the Meier household since the end of August. We traveled to Colordo to visit Jay's family and to visit my sister in Boulder. Hailey and I were supposed to go to Cheyenne, Wyoming with Jay for a few days while he was doing an inspection at FE Warren AFB. Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances, Jay was notified that he would be doing several short notice inspections across the country and would not be returning home right away. In addition, his schedule has changed so drastically that he will be home very little between now and Christmas.
Hailey's first Broncos game. She slept through most of it ( I don't blame her (o:) but had a great time watching football with her daddy. We hope she grows up to be as much of a sports fan as we are! Although, she is going to have some tough decisions to make...Broncos or the 49ers...Giants or the Rockies...
Haiely's first time at college. We visited my sister Julie at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Julie is a senior this year and we went to see her new house that she shares with 6 other girls. Don't they look cute?!
Hailey's first bottle. Hailey officially hates the bottle...it takes over an hour to accept that the only milk she is going to get is coming from this plastic thing being shoved in her mouth. She gets impatient and angry (probably gets that from me) when she doesn't get what she wants but eventually accepts the fact that the bottle is her only option. Fortunately she has only been given the bottle for the few days that I've been back at work, but mom who came to town for a couple of weeks was such a champ. It took some serious patience to feed her and I can't thank Nana enough for staying with us over the last couple of weeks!
