Amy's 30th Birthday

While I was in California, we celebrated my birthday with a party...that's right, I hit the big 3-0 and proud of it! Turning 30 definitely wasn't one of those life crushing moments where I felt like I was old, but when I was in college I truly thought 30 WAS old. I've since changed my tune...well, you know what they say, 30's are the new 20's. I'm not saying I want to relive my 20's again, but I have so much to look forward in this decade! My birthday was on Ash Wednesday this year, so instead of a traditional birthday meal we had my favorite breakfast of pancakes and eggs (so we wouldn't eat meat). Jay flew out to California for my special day and we had a blast! Nani helped me blow out the candles! My mom and family spoiled me rotten while I was home...they even threw me a surprise birthday party the day before Jay, Hailey and I went home but I don't have any pictures on my camera from the party. It was so much fun to see family and friends that I haven't seen in a long time!

Hailey's Half-Birthday!

Happy half birthday Hailey! Hard to believe that our little girl is already 6 months old. My blogging fanatic friend Sabrina gave me the awesome idea of documenting what Hailey is doing each month so we can look back on our blog as a remind of how fast Hailey Bear is growin.
So here goes:
At 6 months old Hailey is:
1. She started eating rice cereal at the beginning of the month and she is just about ready to start eating her veggies.
2. Hailey is rolling over in all directions, especially when she sees something she wants.
3. She still HATES the bottle and refuses to take it...
4. She sits up without anyone holding her, until she gets bored of it and falls backwards or forwards depending on where her toys are located.
5. She wears size 6 month clothes but is just about ready to go into 9 month clothes.
6. Hailey still loves the bath and enjoys the constant flow of water in the shower.
7. She travels on airplanes like a champ (thank goodness!)...has more frequent flier miles than the average adult.
8. She now has her own passport. FYI...did you know that kids have to renew their passports every 5 years?
9. Her favorite thing to do is bounce, bounce, bounce! She loves her bouncy chair, loves to stand in my lap and bounce and loves to watch football with her daddy and bounce.
10. She is now sleeping through the night...goes to bed at 7pm every night and after a few long nights, she is now sleeping 12 hours each night (awesome for mommy and daddy!).
11. Hailey is such a beautiful, happy baby...and we are so blessed to have such a precious angel!

Hailey's Dedication

Hailey was Dedicated on January 13th at our church in the East Mountains. Amy's mom and dad (aka nana and papa) came to visit and were present when so many other children in our church were all dedicated! Afterwards, we had a little shin-dig at our house to celebrate this special occasion. Congratulations Hailey! We are so happy to dedicate our precious little girl to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks for Visiting

Eli (he is our good friend's Lindsay and Ehren Carl's son whom we love), came to play at our house for the day this week. He loves Veggie Tales and decided he wanted to hang out with Hailey during her play time. Every time I would take a picture, Hailey would be looking at me with that adorable smile, and Eli would turn away to see what was going on with his Veggie Tales movie (o:
Then, I caught this picture of him giving her a kiss!
Grandma and Grandpa (Jay's mom and dad) came to visit for the weekend. We had a great time and Hailey loved to pull on Grandpa's mustache!
Grandma and Grandpa brought their dog Pierce for Frankers to play with. They were so cute!

What a cutie!/Her 1st attempt at solids

Hailey can sit up now with just a little bit of help every now and then, but she likes to sit in her Bumbo and play.
For Christmas we received the series "Planet Earth" and we like to learn about the animals on our planet! Hailey is enjoying a little bit of movie time!
On January 4th we decided that it was time to try cereal...this is the before picture. I'm sure Jay and I were more excited than she was!
She likes to reach for the spoon and it took a couple of days for her to figure out what to do with her tongue. I'm not entirely convinced she likes the texture of the cereal, but before you know it she is going to start vegetables (o:
"momma...what is this stuff?!"

Hailey is rolling over!

Right after Christmas Hailey learned how to roll over from her stomach to her back and it didn't take long for her to figure out how to roll the other way. She is rolling all over the place! I can't believe that she is 5 1/2 months old already!
Hailey is becoming such a ham! She loves to play on her favorite blanket that her Aunt Gaby, Uncle Aaron and cousins Damian and Nani bought for her for Christmas!

Hailey's 1st Christmas

Jay and Hailey enjoying being home for Christmas. Hailey had an awesome 1st Christmas and was spoiled by all of our family!
She attempted to open her first present...realized that it was too much effort and preferred to put the wrapping paper in her mouth.
This is one of her favorite gifts from her Aunt Tracy, Uncle Aaron and cousins Julie and Joey. It makes lots o noise and keeps her entertained during play time!
Frankers received that cute blue blanket from his sister and it even has his name on it! I know, he is as spoiled as Hailey Grace...Jay's mom bought him a toy that is sitting next to him, but he destroyed it in less than 10 minutes...he loved it!
